Our Physicians
The Center is staffed by board-certified surgeons and interventional radiologists who are Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.

Douglas W. Hanto, MD, PhD, Medical Director

| Dr. Hanto |
|
Dr. Hanto is Chief of the Division of Transplantation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Lewis Thomas Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is an internationally recognized expert in kidney, liver and pancreas transplantation, as well as in vacular access care and other non-transplant surgical techniques. Dr. Hanto received his medical degree from the Arizona College of Medicine and completed his internship, residency, doctoral degree and a fellowship at the University of Minnesota.

| Dr. Brown |
|
Dr. Brown is Clinical Chief of Nephrology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is also medical director of the DaVita Brookline dialysis unit. He received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his internship and residency at Bellevue Hospital Center. In addition, he completed a residency and a fellowship in nephrology at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

| Dr. Evenson |

Dr. Evenson is a transplant surgeon at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an instructor in surgery at Harvard Medical School. At AV Care, she performs interventional dialysis access procedures. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her intership and residency at Beth Israel Deaconess. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

| Dr. Faintuch |

Dr. Faintuch, an interventional radiologist, is an instructor at Harvard Medical School. A graduate of the Federal University of Sao Paulo Medical School, he completed a research fellowship and a clinical fellowship in interventional radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He speaks Hebrew, Portuguese and Spanish.

Dr. Gelbfish is a vascular surgeon with 18 years of experience in vascular care. He has written and lectured widely about vascular care, and is an expert in both open-surgical and minimally invasive techniques. An assistant clinical professor of surgery at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, N.Y., he is also founder and medical director of a successful vascular care center in Brooklyn. A graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, he completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center and is a licensed surgeon in New York and Massachusetts.

Dr. Vin is a surgeon at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She received her medical degree from Hadassah University, completed her residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She speaks English and Hebrew.
